Latin Name: Borago officinalis
Uses: Skin disorders including eczema (atopic dermatitis), seborrheic dermatitis, and neurodermatitis. Borage is also used to increase breast milk production and to treat bronchitis and colds.
Safety Concerns: Not safe for internal use. External use only. Due to pyrrolizidine alkaloids, if taken internally in large amounts (the amounts needed for medicine), borage can cause serious liver damage and even cancer.
