Botanical Name: Cinnamomum camphora

A white crystalline ketone also known as 2-bornanon and commonly called camphor, obtained from all parts of the tree Cinnamomum camphora. It is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol, and oils.

Aka: True camphor, hon-sho, laurel camphor, Japanese camphor, kamfertræ (Danish), Kampfer (German), alcanfor (Spanish), laurier du Japon. (French)

Help treat neuralgia, arthritis, sore muscles, sprains, insect repellent, acute or chronic pneumonia, bronchitis, bruises, wounds, inflammation, gout, rheumatic joints, hysteria, epilepsy, heart-related ailments, asthma, emphysema and respiratory ailments.

Warnings/Concerns: Do NOT confuse white camphor with yellow or brown camphor. Yellow and brown camphor is extremely toxic and should never be used. Overuse can cause irritation to the skin. Do not use camphor on open wounds. If it is consumed it may cause vomiting, palpitations, convulsions, delirium, hallucinations and even death. Topical use only.
